Our Vision and Mission
Who We Are
The Climate Psychiatry Alliance is a collaboration of psychiatrists and other mental health professionals confronting the public health and mental health consequences of the climate crisis. We bring a clinical and medical lens to the biological, behavioral, cognitive, and emotional toll climate change exacts on individuals and communities.
Mission
To elevate awareness of the climate crisis as an urgent public and mental health emergency and to educate, advocate, and mobilize action to build a healthier future.
Vision
A world in which the mental health dimensions of the climate crisis are recognized, addressed, and prevented — and in which the institutions that safeguard health, science, and democratic participation are strong enough to meet the challenge.
Our Principles
Upholding scientific integrity and evidence-based policy
Confronting threats to public health and climate action
Promoting fact-based education-Countering disinformation
Supporting voter engagement and equitable civic participation
Advancing justice, equity, and civic empowerment as foundations of a healthy democracy
